HR Houston Membership Types
Eligible individuals may become Professional, General, Associate or Student members upon submission of the appropriate application and payment of prescribed dues and approval by HR Houston.
To apply for membership, review the following membership categories and complete the appropriate membership application form. Submit the form with your check or credit card information to cover the first year’s annual dues and processing fee along with any required documentation indicated.
All applications are reviewed by HR Houston to verify that the chapter’s criteria for membership are met.
All applicants for membership will receive electronic notification of the status of their membership application within three business days.
Individuals applying for Professional Membership should be engaged in the profession of human resource management and meet one or more of the following criteria:
- Engaged in human resource management at the "exempt" level
- Certified by the HR Certification Institute
- A faculty member holding assistant, associate or full professional rank in HR
- A full time attorney who counsels and advises clients on matters relating to the human resource profession
- Individuals currently unemployed who held a job within the past 12 months that meets one of the above requirements will be eligible if they certify their intention to regain employment which meets the criteria for Professional Membership
Dues for Professional Membership are $100 annually, plus a $30 processing fee for the first year of membership.
Individuals applying for General Membership do not meet the requirements for Professional Membership but should be engaged in the profession of human resource management - such as "non exempt" HR professionals.
Dues for General Membership are $100 annually, plus a $30 processing fee for the first year of membership.
Individuals applying for Associate Membership do not meet the requirements for Professional or General Membership but represent suppliers of products and/or services utilized by the HR profession.
Dues for Associate Membership are $245 annually, plus a $30 processing fee for the first year of membership.
Individuals applying for Student Membership should be currently enrolled on a full time basis at an established university program pursuing an HR-related degree and do not meet the requirements for Professional, General or Associate Membership.
Dues for Student Membership are $15 annually.
Individuals whose membership, in the opinion of the Board of Directors, could create a conflict of interest between the purposes of the Association and the nature of the applicant's job or the business purpose or objectives of the applicant's organization.
