How to Get Involved:
- You must be an active HR Houston member to participate on a committee and represent the chapter in volunteer projects
- Choose your 2017-2018 committee – see below for descriptions

- Starting in late summer, committees will hold a mix of in-person meetings held at the Chapter Office (610 North & East TC Jester) and projects.

Gulf Coast Symposium I At capacity for 2017-18

2017-2018 Committee Chair
Spend the year preparing for the largest HR conference on the Gulf Coast!
- Form the core team of volunteers who staff the annual conference
- Commit to attend regular meetings for conference updates
- Serve on a project team – concurrent session speaker review, social media, packing, silent auction
- Limited to 60 members; a drawing will be held to confirm participation (AT CAPACITY FOR 2017-18)

HR Ambassadors I JOIN HERE

Help onboard new members, welcome guests and support meeting services!
- Receive ongoing training in HR Houston’s history, policies, processes, projects and events
- Represent the chapter at monthly meetings and HRMixer networking events by welcoming new members and engaging potential and current members
- Support meeting services by introducing speakers; managing the program evaluation distribution and collection; and distributing continuing education certificates

Donate your time/expertise to charitable projects that support the community!
- Employ and develop your professional HR talents and skills
- Help those with job and workplace needs through projects with community partners: Junior Achievement, NextOp Veterans, Star of Hope, and The WorkFaith Connection
- Project examples might include mock interviews, job search advice, and resume review and critique

University Liaison I JOIN HERE

Build relationships with students in HR programs at local colleges!
- Support student HRM programs at Houston-area colleges and universities
- Provide programming; participate in panels and/or networking mixers, and other opportunities coordinated through HR Houston’s Chapter Office
- Promote HR Houston’s annual scholarship to the students and review scholarship applications
- Campus groups have included Houston Baptist University, Sam Houston State University, University of Houston, and University of Houston-Downtown
