HR + TDM (Transportation Demand Management) Forum: Innovative Local, Regional and Global Approaches to Using Employee Mobility for Retention*

Presented by Dezra Nauls, TDM Leader, Metro Star 

Join METRO (METRO STAR Vanpool) and Association for Commuter Transportation (Red River Chapter) for a panel discussion and keynote address. Several Houston-area employers will share how their companies are taking innovative local, regional, and global approaches to employee mobility, sustainability and top-employee retention. Enjoy an opportunity for networking while connecting with other TDM/Transit partners from around the region. Lunch provided.

Credit Hours

*The workshop offers 2.75 PDCs for the SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP and 2.75 hours of HR (General) credit towards PHR and SPHR recertification requirements.

Presenters

DEZRA NAULS is an experienced Transportation Demand Management (TDM) leader. He has worked across multiple marketing disciplines in large and small transportation programs as well as public and private entities as a consultant. With employee development and retention as his core skill, he has built and executed several successful transportation programs across the city of Houston. Dezra has held positions as Chief Operations Officer of a private limousine service, Area Manager of Student Transportation for Houston Independent School District, Call Center Training and Development Manager and currently as Commuter Services Program Manager both at METRO.    

Panelists

DANNY SILVA has a 15+ year career in sustainable development and transportation. With a Master of Science in International Development and Cooperation from the Jyvaskyla University, Finland, he has conducted research in Urban Motility and Mobility as a Service (MaaS) in cooperation with Academia and global MaaS initiatives. And, he served as an advisor on socio-economic development in Europe before returning to the US. Danny now works with the Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (METRO); previously as a senior transportation planner and now manager of vanpool customer service and fleet. He also serves as President of the Association for Commuter Transportation (ACT), Red River Chapter. 

With 15 years of experience at MD Anderson Cancer Center, FAREEDA MOMIN enjoys the impact her role as program manager has on the lives of employees, leading the WorkLife and Recognition Strategies in the Division of Human Resources, Wellness & Recognition department. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management and Information Technology, and her Masters of Business Administration.

YVONNE FEDEE is an assistant director in the Parking and Transportation Services Department at the University of Houston.  She is responsible for UH’s Transportation Demand Management program, including the commute incentive program known as COAST, Cougars on Alternative and Sustainable Transportation.  To reduce the percentage of solo driving to campus, the COAST program incentivizes the use of transit, carpooling, vanpooling, car share, and cycling.  Prior to joining UH in October 2018, Ms. Fedee spent 11 years in the private sector working for a transportation/urban planning consultant, and 9 years serving as an officer in the U.S. Air Force.
