They Did What!?!: Conducting Effective Workplace Investigations *

Presented by Brett Holubeck, Esq, Attorney, Alaniz and Associates

How would you respond if an employee reported that she was sexually harassed? Do you have a response plan in place? One of HR's roles is conducting workplace investigations and avoiding the "he said, she said" scenario. Unfortunately, many HR reps are unprepared. In this session, attendees will discover the steps that they should take before, during, and after an employee reports a problem.

PRESENTER BIO Brett is an attorney with Alaniz and Associates who defends employers in labor and employment law matters. He regularly supports clients facing investigations concerning wage and hour, discrimination, retaliation, and harassment charges by government agencies including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and the Department of Labor (DOL). As the son of a small business owner, Brett understands the importance of preventing trouble before it hits and working with employees to resolve workplace incidents. Brett also blogs on labor, employment, and immigration matters at texaslaborlawblog.com.

Credit Hours

*The meeting offers 1 PDC for the SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP, 1 hour of Business (Strategic) credit towards SPHR and 1 hour of HR (General) credit towards PHR recertification requirements.
