HR Basics is a two-day workshop that introduces you to the field of Human Resources.

Moving from a specialist to generalist position or administrative to exempt?  Has your small company employer asked you to assume an HR role?  This two-day program led by Senior HR Professionals provides an overview of the major areas of HR practice.

Beginning with a review of employment law, you’ll then move through each core HR function to understand the role and responsibilities of HR in each stage of the Employment Life Cycle:

  • Recruiting & Selection
  • Compensation & Benefits
  • Employee Relations & Retention
  • Performance Management

You’ll gain an understanding of the evolving role of HR as a strategic business partner in supporting the company’s mission and goals. Along the way, you’ll begin to build your personal development plan to lead to a proficiency in the field.

Your registration includes a comprehensive workbook packed full of information, practical considerations, examples and other resources that you’ll be able to use as you move forward in your career.
