Session 1: Workplace Guidance During The Pandemic* 

Presented by Cara German, Workplace Consultant, Lauren Rowland, Account Executive, McCoy Rockford and Katie Duran, Wellbeing Specialist, Steelcase 

During this session, Cara German and Lauren Rowland of McCoy Rockford along with Katie Duran of Steelcase, will highlight the process their task force developed to prepare and continue to prepare their workplace for a safe return of all employees. They will review a checklist of items every employer should consider prior to employees returning to the workplace. In addition, they’ll provide fact-based information about the benefits of disinfecting spaces, floor plan assessments and implementation of signage.
CARA GERMAN graduated from Winthrop University with a Bachelor’s in Interior Design. Since then Cara has worked as Kitchen and Bath Designer, Project Manager, Commercial Furniture Project Designer and now serves as McCoy Rockford’s Workplace Consultant – Task Force Leader. In this role Cara focuses on researching facts related to COVID-19 produced by valid institutions to better understand the needs of her company moving forward. Cara also serves on the Houston International Interior Design Association (IIDA) Council as the Advocacy Co-Chair. As the Co-Chair she works to promote IIDA membership and the importance of professional licensing for the Houston design community.

LAUREN ROWLAND graduated from Sam Houston State University with a Bachelor's in Business Marketing. During her career history, Lauren has worked in Corporate Marketing in the Energy industry and currently for McCoy Rockford as an Account Executive and Education Specialist. Her experience of working with corporate accounts and school districts gives her a unique perspective of the various needs of diverse work spaces.

KATIE DURAN is a Wellbeing Consultant with 13 years industry experience. Her focus is Workplace Wellbeing, emphasizing in ergonomics and utilizing space effectively to improve employee physical, emotional and cognitive wellbeing. She is a Certified Ergonomic Assessment Specialist and strategic partner specializing in delivering practical solutions for risk reduction, providing insights for increased employee productivity, and user engagement.

Karen McCullough has been sharing her perspective on change to audiences across the country for the last 20 years. This session will keep you engaged, informed, and inspired, all while having a little fun! 

Before KAREN McCULLOUGH became a keynote speaker, she worked for one of the world’s most famous fashion brands, Ralph Lauren. That was where she learned the power of branding. She took what she learned there and opened her own retail store in Houston. That one store grew to a 4-store operation. Yes, Karen and her team were great at branding, and they were also great at understanding and serving their customers. They took pride in creating a store culture that fostered excellence and engagement —and they had a lot of fun! In 2000, Karen left retail to become a conference keynote speaker. She took what she’d learned in retail and created keynotes that deliver excellence and a WOW experience to hundreds of audiences across the country!
