Educational Program: High Times: How Recent Court Decisions Impact Managing Marijuana in the Workplace*
High Times: How Recent Court Decisions Impact Managing Marijuana in the Workplace*
Presented by Ruthie White, Esq., Partner, SpencerFane, LLP
One thing is certain—the issue of medical and recreational marijuana and its impact in the workplace is here to stay. Recent court cases demonstrate that employers need to consider human resource and legal issues surrounding
both applicants and employees who use marijuana. These cases not only complicate matters for employers who conduct drug testing for drug-free workplaces, but also create difficulty in reconciling their own safety policies
with the courts decisions. The seminar is geared towards weeding out the confusion.
*The meeting offers 1 PDC for the SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP, and 1 hour of HR (General) credit towards PHR and SPHR recertification requirements.
