You must turn onto EAST TC Jester and travel North approx 2 blocks to “Entrance 5” of the office park named “The Preserve”. Turn Right at Entrance 5 and look for the second garage marked Building 2190 for parking.  Registered attendees will receive an email confirmation with driving directions at least 24 hours prior to the start of the workshop


CONTINUING EDUCATION HOURS: Submitted to SHRM for 3 Professional Development Credits (PDCs) towards the SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP.  Submitted to HR Certification Institute for 3 hours of  HR (General) credit towards PHR and SPHR recertification requirements.

ABOUT THE PRESENTERS: JOHN BOERSTLER, Executive Director, NextOp (Marine Veteran) was born in Houston, Texas, into a family with a strong history of military service. In 1999, John enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where he earned the rank of Sergeant. During his time serving our country, John’s overseas assignments took him to Iraq, Kuwait, Syria, Jordan, Djibouti, and Kenya.  In 2009 John helped found the Lone Star Veterans Association (LSVA) in order to help make Houston and Texas the best place for Post 9/11 veterans and their families. LSVA has become the largest network of Post 9/11 veterans in the State of Texas and provides free, innovative services to this generation of service members and families.

CECILIA A. CLARK, Talent Acquisition Coordinator, NextOp (Army Veteran)  is a native Galvestonian and proud Texan with a strong military and human resources background.  She enlisted in the United State Army in April 2005; served multiple enlistments with both active and reserve components including a yearlong deployment to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. After serving over 10 years and earning the rank of Staff Sergeant, she received an honorable discharge in 2015.  During her time in the service, she worked as a Bell 407 helicopter mechanic and then transitioned to working full time as a career counselor.  As a career counselor, she learned how to guide and assist Soldiers with their career paths.

MIA GARCIA Talent Acquisition Manager, NextOp (Marine Veteran) is a native Houstonian and proud Texan with a strong military record. She enlisted in the United State Marine Corps shortly after 9/11; served multiple enlistments with both active and reserve components including a yearlong deployment to Kuwait in support of Operation Enduring & Iraqi Freedom. After serving over eight years and earning the rank of Sergeant, she received an honorable discharge in 2011. Attending college throughout the latter part of her military service Mia graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Houston with a Bachelors of Science in 2012.

ANNAMARIA JIMENEZ, Corporate Partnerships Manager, Next Op (Navy Veteran) is a native Houstonian who enlisted in the Navy in 2004. She served as a Fire Controlman, during which time she mainly worked with the Close-In Weapons System (CIWS) and the MK 38 Machine Gun System. Prior to her current role, while based in Vietnam, she was the Director of Operations for a retail company where she oversaw production and business development in both Southeast Asia and North America.
